Advent has begun, and Asbury is excited to spread the Good News of Jesus' birth!  Come and join us!

Friday, December 5: We'll be gathering at the church at 6 PM to plate up cookies and candies to share with our Food Pantry guests the following morning.  It's a fun time and you will probably be able to snitch a couple cookies!

Sunday, December 14: Christmas Cantata with our friends at Kalona UMC.  10:00 AM, with a potluck afterward. Feel free to just drop in to enjoy the singing and the food...there's always plenty!

Sunday, December 21: Ugly Christmas Sweater Service, 10:30 AM.  Pastor Lisa will be preaching a sermon series entitled "The Heart that Grew Three Sizes," inspired by the story of The Grinch.  This Sunday, release your inner Cindy Lou Who by wearing your best (worst) Christmas apparel!

Wednesday, December 24: Christmas Eve Services.  Please join us for our Candlelight Christmas Eve service at 5 PM.  We will celebrate the coming of the Christ child with Holy Communion and a candlelit Silent Night. Can’t make it at 5? Head on over to Kalona UMC at 7 PM...the service will be the same.

Thursday, December 25: Christmas Day Potluck at the Wellman Senior Center, 12:00 PM.  Share Christmas Day with friends at the Wellman Senior Center.  Federation Bank is providing the meat and potatoes.  If you wish, feel free to bring a dish to share...if not, just come and enjoy!

Sunday, December 28: Joint service with Kalona UMC at Asbury, 10:00 AM (note that early start time!).  We will have a "Lessons and Carols" service with lots of Christmas songs and scriptures, followed by a yummy Hot Cocoa Bar!
